Exchange eligibility — bRRAIn Docs
Buyer and seller eligibility on the Exchange — what's required and why.
Exchange eligibility
The Exchange has light eligibility requirements that protect both buyers and sellers. This page lays them out.
Buyer eligibility
To purchase any Exchange item:
- An active bRRAIn account with confirmed email.
- Membership in an organization with Architect or higher role for the organization purchases will route through.
- A payment method on file for paid items.
- A bRRAInUserID claimed is recommended but not required for purchase.
Free items can be purchased with the same minimal flow — just no payment method needed.
For some restricted items (regulated datasets, cleared LoRA adapters), additional eligibility may apply:
- Identity verification via Stripe Identity.
- Compliance certifications (e.g., HIPAA-only content requires an HIPAA-tagged organization).
- Geographic restrictions (some content is licensed for specific jurisdictions).
The listing's compatibility section lists any extra requirements.
Seller eligibility
To submit content for sale:
- A bRRAIn account with confirmed email and MFA enrolled.
- A claimed bRRAInUserID as your public seller identity.
- An active Exchange submitter seat subscription.
- Stripe Identity verification completed.
- Acceptance of the Exchange seller agreement including revenue share, IP warranty, and content guidelines.
You must be the lawful owner of the content you list, or have written permission from the rights holder. We may request proof in cases of dispute.
Why MFA + Identity verification
Two reasons:
- Trust — buyers need to know the seller behind a listing is real and reachable.
- Tax — payouts trigger tax reporting, which requires verified identity.
These are one-time steps. After completion you can publish freely.
Restricted content categories
Some content categories carry tighter rules:
| Category | Extra requirement | |---|---| | Medical / clinical | Seller credentials (licensed practitioner or accredited entity). Buyer compliance tag. | | Legal | Seller jurisdiction disclosure. Buyer must accept "not legal advice" disclaimer. | | Financial advice | Seller must be registered (e.g., RIA, CFA). Buyer suitability questionnaire. | | Defense / dual-use | Export-control review. Buyer end-use disclosure. ITAR / EAR compliance. | | Personal data / datasets | Provenance documentation. Buyer use-case attestation. |
Restricted-category submissions get extended review.
Geographic eligibility
The Exchange operates globally with a few exceptions:
- We don't sell to or pay sellers in jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions.
- Some specific sellers may restrict geographic reach (license-language).
- VAT / GST / sales-tax handling adapts to your billing region.
Disqualification
We may suspend or terminate seller status for:
- Plagiarism or IP infringement.
- Misleading listings or false claims about content.
- Hostile content (malware, exploit kits, deceptive material).
- Repeated failure to support customers.
- Coordinated review manipulation.
Terminated sellers' active customers are notified and supported through their license term.
