Other languages — bRRAIn Docs
The bRRAIn Platform SDK is Go only. How code in other languages reaches the same brain pod endpoints, and when to use MCP or Data Pipe instead.
Other languages
The Platform SDK is a Go module. There is no official Node.js, Python or other-language package, so do not look for one on npm or PyPI.
Inside an extension: call the endpoints the SDK wraps
The supervisor runs whatever binary your manifest names, so an extension can be written in any language. The SDK is a thin wrapper: each method is one HTTP request to the brain pod's internal API at BRRAIN_INTERNAL_URL, with these headers:
Authorization: Bearer <BRRAIN_INTERNAL_TOKEN>Accept: application/json(andContent-Type: application/jsonon requests with a body)X-Brrain-App-Slug: <BRRAIN_APP_SLUG>, so the platform enforces your vault namespace
A few of the routes:
| Go SDK method | HTTP request |
| --- | --- |
| Vault().Read | GET /internal/vault/file?path=<p>, returning {"path": ..., "content": "<base64>"} |
| Vault().Write | POST /internal/vault/file with {"path", "content" (base64), "append"} |
| Vault().List | GET /internal/vault/list?path=<dir> |
| Vault().Search | POST /internal/vault/search |
| Ingestion().Commit | POST /internal/ingestion/commit |
| LLM().Call | POST /internal/llm |
| LLM().Models | GET /internal/llm/models |
| Audit().Append | POST /internal/audit |
| (no SDK method) | GET /internal/version, returning sdk_version and sub_clients |
Non-2xx responses carry the status and a body describing the error, exactly what the Go SDK surfaces as APIError. If you choose another language you own the wire handling, including base64 file content and error bodies; the Go source in pkg/platform-sdk (available with a developer seat) is the reference for each request and response shape.
Outside an extension: use a governed gateway
Code that does not run on the pod as an extension does not use the internal API. Connect through the platform's governed gateways instead:
- MCP clients (Claude Desktop, the VS Code extension, your own MCP client) reach the vault and other tools through the MCP Gateway with the user's own identity and permissions.
- Data Pipe federates live queries to connected systems and is also available as
datapipe_*MCP tools. - The LLM Registry governs which models the organization uses.
