What the bRRAIn Black Box program is — enterprise-scale AI implementations under NDA.

Black Box overview

The Black Box program is bRRAIn's offering for the most significant enterprise AI implementations — scoped, NDA-gated engagements for organizations whose AI initiatives are too sensitive, too consequential, or too custom for the standard self-service path.

When Black Box is right

Black Box is for organizations that:

  • Have more than 1,000 employees and an enterprise AI strategy with executive ownership.
  • Are deploying AI into business-critical or regulated functions (clinical decision support, automated trading, defense systems, executive decision intelligence).
  • Need full data sovereignty in a specific jurisdiction or hardened environment.
  • Have unique technical or operational requirements that go beyond what the standard product delivers.
  • Need confidentiality during the design and rollout phases.

If you're under 1,000 employees, run standard regulated workloads, or want to evaluate before committing — start with the standard tier. Black Box is for the projects where standard isn't sufficient.

What Black Box includes

A Black Box engagement is custom-scoped. Common components:

  • Discovery and design — multi-week working sessions with our senior architects, your stakeholders, and (typically) external advisors. Ends with a Detailed Implementation Brief.
  • Custom architecture — bRRAIn deployed to your specifications: sovereign cloud, hybrid on-prem + hosted, air-gapped, dedicated infrastructure regions, multi-jurisdictional data residency.
  • Custom Handler — a per-engagement Handler trained on your domain corpus, evaluated against your use cases.
  • Custom integrations — bridges into your existing systems built specifically for your stack.
  • Custom marketplace extensions — extensions built for your engagement that may or may not be productized.
  • Embedded engineering — bRRAIn engineers embedded with your team for the duration of the engagement.
  • Annual hardening reviews — ongoing security, compliance, and architecture reviews.
  • Executive briefings — periodic readouts to your executive team and board.

NDA-gated process

Engagement begins with mutual NDA before any substantive discussion. We use a standard NDA you can review during application; we'll consider counter-NDAs for organizations whose policies require their own.

Under NDA we can:

  • Discuss our roadmap in detail.
  • Disclose customer references.
  • Walk through our architecture.
  • Share evaluation results from prior engagements (anonymized).

Engagement phases

A typical Black Box engagement follows phases:

  1. Initial conversation — 30 minutes, mutual fit assessment.
  2. NDA signing.
  3. Discovery — 4–8 weeks. Working sessions, system tours, requirement gathering.
  4. Detailed Implementation Brief — 2–3 weeks. Comprehensive design document with cost estimate.
  5. Brief review — your team and stakeholders review and sign off.
  6. Statement of Work — formal SOW signed.
  7. Build phase — variable. Custom infrastructure, custom Handler, custom integrations, embedded engineering.
  8. Pilot — 8–16 weeks of controlled rollout.
  9. General availability — full rollout to your organization.
  10. Steady state — ongoing engagement with quarterly reviews.

Total time to general availability: typically 6–18 months depending on scope.

Pricing

Black Box engagements are custom-priced, not list-priced. Cost components:

  • One-time discovery and design fees.
  • Custom build fees.
  • Annual platform and managed-service fees.
  • Pass-through compute and infrastructure costs.

Engagements typically start in the high six figures annually for the platform fees alone. Discovery and design fees are credited against the build phase if you proceed.

Confidentiality

We maintain confidentiality of the fact of engagement. With explicit consent, we may publish a redacted case study after general availability. Without consent, we don't disclose the engagement's existence even to other prospective customers.
