Console overview — bRRAIn Docs

What the bRRAIn Console is, who uses it, and what you can do with it.

Console overview

The Console at console.brrain.io is the operator surface for your organization. If app.brrain.io is where members use bRRAIn, the Console is where Architects and Sovereigns run bRRAIn.

What you'll find here

The Console organizes operator work into nine areas. Each gets its own doc page in this section:

  • Dashboard — the home view: pod health, member counts, recent activity, alerts.
  • Organizations & provisioning — provision and manage your organization's brain pod (the per-org compute runtime).
  • Members & roles — invite, remove, change roles, configure SSO and SCIM.
  • Marketplace install — install, update, and uninstall marketplace extensions for your organization.
  • Integrations — wire up OAuth credentials, webhooks, and third-party connections.
  • Notifications — channel routing, escalation rules, quiet hours, on-call rotations.
  • Settings & themes — branding, theme, billing, retention policies, danger zone.
  • Observability — request rates, latency, error rates, audit log, quota usage.

Who should be here

| Role | Console usage | |---|---| | Sovereign | Daily — destructive actions, billing, owners-only configuration. | | Architect | Daily — most operational configuration. | | Librarian | Occasionally — to manage retention and ontology settings. | | Operator | Rarely — view-only dashboards, perhaps notification preferences. | | Contributor / Observer | Not usually. | | Guest | Never — no Console access. |

If you only need to use bRRAIn, you'll do that in app.brrain.io. The Console is for the people running things.

Layout

The Console uses a left sidebar nav. The sidebar collapses to icons on small screens and stays expanded on desktop.

  • Top of sidebar — organization picker. Shows the active organization; click to switch.
  • Home / Console / Installed extensions / Themes & settings — the four collapsible mega-sections.
  • Bottom of sidebar — your user chip with sign-out and a link back to your app.brrain.io dashboard.

The main content area is a single column. Most pages have an action bar at the top (filter, search, bulk actions).

Conventions you'll see throughout

  • Pods are your organization's brain runtimes. One organization → one pod (with optional standby for high-availability tiers).
  • Extensions are marketplace-installed apps that run inside or alongside your pod. They're managed through Marketplace install.
  • Integrations are credentials and webhooks that connect bRRAIn to other systems (your CRM, your ticketing system, your code host).
  • Zones are partitions of your Vault — see Architecture: Vaults.
  • Routes are the URL prefixes that surface bRRAIn capabilities to your members.

Console availability

The Console is one of the bRRAIn services we operate for you. Status is live at status.brrain.io. The Console stays available even when an individual brain pod is restarting or upgrading; pod-affecting actions queue and apply when the pod is reachable again.

A note on access

Some Console pages and actions are restricted by role. The page renders, the controls grey out, and a tooltip explains what role is required. You'll never see a control silently fail — if you can click it, you can do it.
